Rob’s work explores how the human experience connects the natural world with the inner landscape of the heart and mind.
After moving from Fabbro Gallery on Folsom Street in San Francisco, to his wine country studio in Sonoma County, Rob discovered a new passion; printing his photos on handmade paper.
“The first time I printed one of my photos on handmade paper was a revelation. The way the archival ink seeped into and became one with the delicate fibers, reminded me of the first print I saw coming up in a darkroom tray”. That moment was magical and became the inspiration for this Handmade Paper Print Series.
The touch of human hands imparts something machines never will: heart and soul. That is what makes an image that is printed by the maker himself on paper made by human hands, so unique.
