Description
In California where I have spent my entire life, it is very common for there to be fruits and vegetables adorning bowls on our table tops and counters.
I love artichokes and they usually don’t hang around long without being eaten; in this case there were three sitting on the dining table for a sufficient
amount of time, that they began to flower. I had never seen this happen before & iit was exciting to discover. It came to mind that the front door of my
house was purple, so I was inspired to place the artichoke in front of the door for this picture. The image is dedicated to Norma, my late mother-in -law
who had a tradition of painting the front door of every house she ever lived in, purple.
